- The historical center
"El giro al Sass" - this expression is used by the people of Trentino to describe the tour through the streets of the city center made up of squares and frescoed buildings of rare beauty. The classic tour starts between Via Oss Mazzurana and Via Oriola, during the circular route you will discover:
Piazza Pasi
Palazzo Niccoli
Palazzo Tabarelli
Palazzo Cazuffi
Palazzo Fugger Galasso
Palazzo del Diavolo
Palazzo Saracini Cresseri
Chiesa di San Pietro
Piazzetta Anfiteatro
Casa Torre Benatti
Keep your gaze up as you walk around discovering the historic center. This will help reveal some less obvious and known details! - The science museum Muse
The science museum in Trento designed by the world-famous architect Renzo Piano is one of the most interesting in Europe. Dinosaurs, primitive humans, mammals, glaciers and much more will make your visit to Muse a unique experience. The tropical greenhouse in which the climate of an uncontaminated corner of Tanzania has been recreated is an unmissable gem. - The Buonconsiglio Castle
Characterized by frescoed halls, loggias and imposing towers, this castle was home to the bishop princes, lords of Trento until 1803. Today it houses numerous art and archeology collections as well as important temporary exhibitions. - The Cathedral and the Diocesan Museum
The Cathedral of San Vigilio was built by the will of Bishop Federico Vanga; it is here that the decrees of the Council of Trento were promulgated from 1545 to 1563. The Diocesano Museum, which contains precious objects and paintings depicting the great assizes of the Council of Trento is also worth seeing.
We also recommend visiting the Paleocristian Basilica of San Vigilio, in the basement of the cathedral. - The Galleries
The Galleries, formed out of two former road tunnels, are two museums, each 300 meters long, which host photographic exhibitions, multimedia installations and cultural events. The two tunnels are located a short distance from the city in the Piedicastello district. - The Doss Trento and the national alpine museum
On the top of Doss Trento, one of the three hills on which the city stands, is located the Mausoleum of Cesare Battisti, the Trentino irredentist killed by the Austrians in July 1916. In addition to the remains of Battisti, the center of the imposing monument is also home to the chapel and the bust of the soldier by the Trentino sculptor Eraldo Fozzer.
On the way up to the Mausoleum, stop and visit the National Alpine Museum! - The cable car to Sardagna
If you want to admire the city of Trento from above, all you have to do is head behind the train station. It is from here that you can scale up Monte Bondone by cable car to the hamlet of Sardagna. The facility is open every day from 7 a.m. until 10.30 p.m. - The gorge of Ponte Alto
The gorge of Ponte Alto is fifteen minutes by bus from the Alpine town, an incredible canyon carved into the rock by the Fersina river. This millenary site is home to two waterfalls of over 40 meters cascadinge down the rocks, giving life natural sounds and lights that will amaze you.
Visitors are required to make reservations to visit the gorge on the official website! - Trip to Sorasas
Take a walk in the heart of nature between meadows and the remains of military posts from the First World War. The circular route, which starts and ends in Cadine will give you a wonderful aerial view of the whole Adige Valley. - The aperitif in the center
At the end of your day admiring the beauties of Trento, we recommend that you stop in Piazza del Duomo to enjoy an aperitif with a glass of Trentodoc. This sparkling wine, produced according to strict rules, is enjoyed up and down the nation.
